The city of Chicago is known worldwide as the Mecca of brass playing, and for over two decades, the award-winning Asbury Brass Quintet has established an admirable reputation both in the United States and abroad. Capturing first prize at the Fishoff National Chamber Music Competition in Indiana and the prestigious Saunderson Award at the Coleman Chamber Music Competition in California in the same year catapulted the quintet to the top rank of brass ensembles in America.
Their triumph was quickly followed by guest appearances on WFMT-FM in Chicago, WFYI-TV in Indiana, The Disney Channel, Seattle, Portland and New Orleans NBC affiliates and extensive concert tours throughout the US.
The Asbury Brass Quintet has collaborated with some of the world’s finest brass players, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Adolph Herseth who performed with the quintet on their critically acclaimed compact disc, Introducing the Asbury Brass Quintet.
The Asbury Brass Quintet performs repertoire from a wide variety of musical periods and styles, ranging from Renaissance to popular and contemporary music. Exemplary artistry and dazzling entertainment are what make every Asbury Brass Quintet performance a memorable experience.
